First Prototype 0.1

Welcome to the very first devlog for our project, Legend of Nana! 🎉

This is the start of our journey to turn an absurd idea into a playable retro 2D comedy game.

What is Legend of Nana?

At its core, Legend of Nana is about keeping  grandma alive through the everyday chaos of life. Simple daily tasks like reading the newspaper or turning on the TV become life-or-death minigames.

The goal is to survive as long as possible. The catch? Tasks only get faster, harder, and more distracting the longer you play.

How it works right now

  • Overworld → Indicator → Minigame You start in Nana’s living room. From there, you move Nana to different indicators (think glowing activity points). Each indicator launches a minigame.

  • Escalation Each time you succeed, the game steps up in difficulty. Failing a minigame means Nana stumbles, and in the future this will connect to a lives system (currently planned but not yet implemented).

Read the Newspaper

  • Nana’s glasses aren’t what they used to be.

  • Use a magnifying glass/reading glasses to find the target word.

  • Find the target word (given at the start) before the timer runs out.

  • If you land on the correct word, it flashes green - lock it in to win.

Turn On the TV (Remote Sequence)

  • Nana just wants to watch her shows… but first, the remote.

  • Watch a color/button sequence flash across the retro remote.

  • Repeat the sequence correctly.

  • Each round adds one more button. Clear 3 rounds to win.

  • Miss a button or run out of time, and Nana fails the task.

What’s Next

(More minigames are planned - cat feeding, medicine roulette, plants battle, and more. A lives system will also be added as a future feature.)
